ilbur “Bill” Lorne, founder, is a Lake Worth native graduating from Lake Worth High School in 1944. He attended Palm Beach Junior College and graduated class president of the American Academy in 1952. Bill and his wife Nancy opened Lorne Funeral Home on April 1, 1957, in Delray Beach. The original funeral home on Federal Highway is now the home of Plastridge Insurance Company. Two years after our opening, responding to the growing population of Delray Beach, we built our current funeral home. In 1972, Michael Lorne joined his father, and in 1979, Patrick Lorne followed.
The Lorne Family has added our fourth generation funeral director, Kevin M. Lorne (Michael's son).
As our town and surrounding area have changed so much over the years, you can always feel comfortable knowing that Lorne & Sons Funeral Home is still owned and operated by one of Delray Beach’s oldest families.
